The Death of Boromir

Strongjoy and I have been doing a little bit of filming with our digital camera lately, and this is our first production. We filmed it with some friends who came out for the weekend. We all had a great time acting out our favorite movie scenes in the woods, (I am not telling who I played. We made most of the costumes ourselves) then we fished in our pond and camped out on our land. We made s'mores, sang songs by the campfire, and heard the coyotes howl. Wish you were here.

Filming is a lot more fun than I thought it would be (and a lot more work!) I want to thank everyone who participated! We are nearly finished with another short film and I will probably post that when it is completed. Strongjoy and I actually do have a longer, more difficult one in mind for the future, but we haven't started filming yet. We are still working on script and costumes. I would tell you what it is, but everyone (including myself) who knows anything about it has been sworn to utter secrecy until it is produced, so I can't. The neat thing about this one is that Peter Jackson hasn't done it yet - in fact, we will be the first ones, so we are excited. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this one!

Oh, how exciting!
I haven't watched it yet (other people in the room are watching the telly) but I love making movies with my friends! We've definitely made our share of Tolkien-inspired films...

Nice work!
I watched it and it was quite lovely. Definitely familiar.
I'll have to see if I can transfer any of our movies onto Clickety-Clack.

By the way, you've been tagged! See my blog for details. ;)

What was the story line for your film (I'm not familiar with LotR)? Which one is Boromir?

Hail Roara, She Who Has The Right To Stand On Her Feet In Her Shoes Before The Face Of The Tisroc (may he live forever). Greetings from the Depths of my Vivid Imagination!

I very much enjoy reading your blog; you are quite the poet and authoress. I love all your book reviews. Nice movie! I have read the LOTR but have not seen it, so I don't know whether the music is from the movie or not. Is it?

Toodle pip!

P.S. Here's hoping you find the time to post more often!!

Hail, Queen Anne of the Radiant Southern Sun! Greetings from the heart of Archenland!

Thank you so much for your encouragement! I am very glad that you are enjoying my website.

Yes, the music is all from the first Lord of the Rings film, the Fellowship of the Ring. It is actually five or six clips from different parts of the soundtrack that I put together.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope to hear from you again!

May the light of the stars shine upon your face!

Namarie,
Raora

P.S. I thought that the Lord of the Rings movies were not quite as good as the books, (of course), but they are still my favorites, and I DO recommend them!

Hail Roara!

Soooo pleased to hear from you! Always glad to be an encouragement :)

I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on Prince Caspian (the movie). It has been a matter of great controversy in my mind. By the way, I loved the music you used to play, and because of it bought the Narnia soundtrack (of which my favorite songs are #2, #12, and #13).

Woops, I'd better go and wash the dishes ;)

May the sun shine on your sword!

P.S. Have you ever looked at
costumes.narniaweb.com
It is very very interesting, especially as I love to sketch dresses.

P.P.S. Extra credit if you understand the meaning of my second name.

A book tag sounds REALLY good, Raora!!! I'd love to do it. What do you have in mind? *of course, it is your idea, so I'd like to know what you have in mind. :)

Hail, Anne Pevensie!

Hi! I am so glad you came back!

I am thrilled that you actually bought the Narnia soundtrack because of my blog! (I only have the Prince Caspian soundtrack, though I do love the music of the first movie as well.) As for my own thoughts on Prince Caspian, I was very satisfied with the movie. I never liked the book as much as the other ones, (though it is one of my favorite books in general) but I liked the Caspian movie even more than the first one. The acting and the effects were very good, and I liked Susan a good deal more this time. I did not mind most of the changes that they made - the attack on the castle was excusable, as it corresponds to the several battles with Miraz that were not described in the book. I did not like the rivalry between Caspian and Peter, and I did not care for the romance between Susan and Caspian, but I don't think it really messed up the movie. As a whole, my opinion is very positive. What did you think?

Oh, and I was not the one who figured out your last name, by the way. My mom figured it out before you left your last comment, actually!

It is very interesting that you brought up the costume site. I had just been there for the first time the day before I read your comment. I like it very much, especially since I like making costumes, and have made a couple for various films. Nothing very fancy, of course - I am not extremely detail-oriented.

May you walk in the light of the wind!

- Raora

P.S. Extra credit if you know where my name comes from...

Hail Her Excellency Roara, Most Excelling in Excellent Bloggingdom, one who Excels beyond all Exclellent Excelling...

Just me again, to say thank-you for chatting! I feel much the same way you do about Prince Caspian, although I was a bit more frustrated at all the changes. But I enjoyed the good parts along with not-enjoying the bad parts! Do you think that the Prince Caspian soundtrack is worth buying? If it is as good as the LWW, then I'll take it, thanks, but if not I might not want to buy it. Oh and I love costuming too. Although I just draw my costumes- I haven't the nerve (or sources) to make a real dress or something yet.

I really am not sure what your name means. It's a little less obvious than Eisnevep... hmm, is it from the fictional book you are writing? Did you make it up just because the sound gave you a little poetic thrill?

By-by, Anne Eisnevep :)

Hail, Anne Pevensie of the Clear Western Sky, Greetings from the High Ring of Doom, wherein floursih the Two Trees of Blessed Light. (Have you read the Silmarillion?)

(I am really getting to like these greetings.)

It is nice to know that we have similar feelings about Prince Caspian! Thanks for asking about it! As for the soundtrack, while I love all Narnia music, I don't think it was as good as the first one. I don't have the first one, but one of my friends do, so I have heard all of the songs. There were many recurring themes from the last movie, but there were also some new ones. My favorite tracks are 2, 4, 11, 12, and 13. Even if you don't get the CD, I do recommend track 13. It is The Call, by Regina Spektor. You probably remmeber it from watching the movie - it is the last song before the credits. I love it!

Wow, that was really intellegent, figuring out my name. I asked yo because guessed that there was a chance you might know, since you had made a comment earlier that about my being an author, so I figured you may have read the chapter of my book that I have posted on here. Why I chose it? Well, yes, it does give me something like a 'poetic thrill' and I love the similarity between Raora and Aurora (although I didn't notice it till after I had come up with the name.)

Well, that is all for now,

Namarie,
Raora

Hail Queen Roara the Gracious, whose beauty outshines the brightest star! Greetings from She who knows how the heather looks, and what a wave must be.

( I am really getting to LOVE these greetings :)

Actually yes, I have read that chapter of your story (and haven't forgotten it since, oooohhhhh). I wish I knew what happened next, but maybe someday I'll read it in print ..... I *love* The Call, which I also first heard on your blog before the movie came out. I am very nearly determined to buy the soundtrack purely for that sake. I am looking forward to Voyage of the Dawn Treader; that was one of my favorite books, along with The Horse and His Boy. Although I love them all pretty nearly equally.

The time has come for me to part (temporarily). May you reign with strength and wisdom, and in future years, never forget She Who Delights in Commenting on this blog.
